heal walking

heal walks.
thats right heal walks. no this doesn't mean walk in your high heals all day, it means to literally walk on the heals of your foot whenever you can. why?? because heal walking actually stretches the calf muscles and strengths them.
by stretching and strengthening them all at the same time you will decrease the dreaded plague of shin splints. try heal walking as you are up getting the laundry, chasing a kid, or walking to the couch (if that ever happens) and let me know what you think.

  1. good tip. Shin splints attacked Nate right before our marathon and fortunately he worked through them in time.....this would have helped!
